Nintendo ließ sich nicht lumpen und hat, wie bereits zu The Wind Waker, eine verbesserte HD-Version für die Wii U erschaffen, damit die Wartezeit auf den nächsten Teil der Serie ein wenig verkürzt wird. Fans von Resident Evil oder Wimmelbild-Spielen können sich auf ein paar nette Angebote freuen. Außerdem gibt es einige neue eShop-Titel, wie zum Beispiel Grumpy Reaper, und den Strategie-Klassiker Advance Wars DS für die Virtual Console auf der Wii U.
